South Florida Pride Youth Band Season 13

High School students from the tri-county area will join forces with members of the South Florida Pride Concert Band to celebrate the music of Dr. Chandler Wilson. These students have been rehearsing for the past month and will perform under the direction of Dr. Chandler Wilson, Director of Athletic Bands for Florida State University. The evening’s program will include two specially commissioned including “Las Olas” composed by Dr. Chandler Wilson and “Proud of Me” by Michele Fernández, a local composer, guest clinician, adjudicator and performer. Over a dozen $1,000 college scholarships will be awarded to members of the Youth Band. One exceptional student will receive a $7,500 scholarship as part of the 2nd Annual FLoatarama Soloist Competition and will be a featured as a soloist during the South Florida Pride Concert Band’s May 2024 concert.
